Ana d’Abreu, Phd
Dr. Ana d’Abreu is a licensed psychologist who completed her doctorate degree in school psychology at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Prior, she received a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Santa Clara University. She completed her APA accredited doctoral internship at Western Youth Services where she specialized in supporting children and adolescents with traumatic stress.
Dr. Ana has worked in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, and community agencies. Her experience within these systems allows her to provide guidance in receiving necessary support and/or resources. Moreover, Dr. Ana is highly experienced in providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents who experience anxiety, depression, traumatic stress, and chronic illness. Dr. Ana values the parent-child relationship and provides behavioral management strategies as well as guidance in building stronger relationships. Based on her client’s need, she utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Tics.
Most of all, Dr. Ana values the relationship she builds with her client. She believes that the strength of this relationship determines the best therapy outcomes. She is passionate about understanding the unique perspective and culture of each of her clients. She has been described as warm and genuine, with a sense of humor. For fun, she enjoys taking her French bulldog on long walks, hiking, going to concerts, watching comedy shows/movies, checking out new restaurants, and spending time with her family and partner.
